Donation fun!
Posted on October 16, 2015
We had another amazing visit to Head Start to donate belts to kids in need. The teachers there love our belts so much that they keep the belts at school so that they don't get lost at home! We had such a great time sizing the kids for belts and letting them choose their favorite. Remember, that when you add a book to your order, WE donate a belt to a child in the Head Start program. We have some great books to choose from!
Kindness
Posted on September 20, 2015
I try to go through the world with a feeling of kindness and gratitude, greeting others that I pass during the day with a smile, having a little banter, and trying to connect. We try to infuse our Facebook page with positive messages and quote, something that will make you smile, and just bringing some humanity to the crazy world of parenting. One of my favorite aspects of Myself Belts is providing excellent customer service. We love talking with customers via phone and email, speaking with stores who carry Myself Belts, and answering questions about our innovative belt. We all get such energy from...

Back To School
Posted on August 31, 2015
We are all in back to school mode, whether you are a month into school already or starting next week. There are so many mixed emotions about heading back to school. Missing the laziness of summer, eager for structure, disbelief that the kids are a year older, nostalgic about how fast time moves. All of this is rolled together and makes us all excited, tired, and maybe a little confused! We wish your kids a great start to school and hope you enjoy a few extra minutes of peace and quiet once you hustle them out the door.

Summer Reading
Posted on July 06, 2015
One of my favorite things about summer is how the whole family dives into summer reading. There just seems to be more time to enjoy a good book. I love walking into a room and seeing my kids reading away! Trips to the library are a common occurrence, and it's amazing how many times we have gone to the library so far this summer. Everyone is more relaxed (including me!) and we all have a more time to "smell the roses" and get into a good book. Favorites around our house are the Divergent series for older kids, Chris Colfer's...

Occupational Therapists Rock!
Posted on April 21, 2015
We spent part of last week at the annual AOTA conference and had a table in their exhibition hall. What an amazing experience. The OT's were so excited about how Myself Belts could help their patients. They were thrilled about the variety of people that could benefit- from children heading off to school, to patients with only the use of one hand, to stroke patients, clients with autism, all could benefit from simplifying dressing. The phrase heard over and over again was "It's so OT!". Many of the people who we talked with had seen our Shark Tank appearance and...

The Shark Tank Experience
Posted on November 02, 2014
Anyone who watched Myself Belts on Shark Tank on Halloween knows what happened. It was intense. Or should I capitalize it and say INTENSE! It truly was rough, and although I know it was a reality television show, I did feel like I had been in a fight and was definitely bruised. It is complicated emotionally though because the story has a happy ending, a Daymond John partnership. Going In The Tank My decision to apply for Shark Tank didn't have anything to do with money. The "ask" was kind of arbitrary to me because I was there for a...

The Myself Belts' Road To Shark Tank
Posted on October 27, 2014
As the crazy week of our Shark Tank airing approaches, I have been reflecting on how all of this came to be...It truly is something that I never thought would actually happen. Of course I hoped that I would have the opportunity to pitch to the sharks, introduce the world to Myself Belts, and hopefully have a new strategic partner. These were just wishes though, crazy pipe dreams that we all have when we fantasize about exciting wild ideas. Shark Tank Isn't For Me...Or is it? I started watching Shark Tank a few years ago when a business consultant mentioned...

Family Games
Posted on October 09, 2014
I've been reminded in recent weeks, how much fun family game days/nights can be. When as a family, we can all unplug, gather, and spend some quality time enjoying each other's company- it is such special time. Amidst the hectic days of driving in circles and racing from here to there, times when we get to stop and just "be" are so welcome. I am also realizing how fleeting they are and how we need to make time to have these memories. I have been reflecting on how our games have changed over the years as the kids have gotten older....
