Hi Everyone,
We wanted to share some exciting news that happened last week. We were featured on Jean Chatzky’s website as her entrepreneurs of the week! We are both big fans of Jean and have watched her on the Today Show and listened to her on Oprah Radio. It is so thrilling to know that she is a fan of Myself Belts and our mom entrepreneur story. Check out the feature http://www.jeanchatzky.com/uncategorized/entrepreneur-fridays-myself-belts/
We have had an exciting couple of weeks! Hope it continues!
Enjoy your day!

Hi Everyone,
So today was a fantastic day! I love how each day starts and you have no idea what the day will bring. Some are typical, some are tiring, and some are just straight out exciting. Woke up, had breakfast, opened our email, and there it was… a picture of Madonna holding her daughter Mercy in Malawi and Mercy was wearing a Myself Belt!!!! Seriously, couldn’t believe it. We know that celebrity kids have Myself Belts and we have heard from many that they love our belt line. But to see an actual picture was truly unbelievable!
I hope that all of you can share in our excitement that our idea, inspired by motherhood and a common parenting problem, had grown to a place that Madonna’s daughter was wearing our invention on the other side of the world! We are not ashamed (but maybe just a little embarrassed) to say that we enjoy a good US Weekly read or a little visit to justjared.com so for us this was pure fun. Check out this great picture of Mercy wearing our Metallic Heart Myself Belt that started this exciting day.
Have a great Halloween weekend!

Hi Everyone,
Myself Belts was excited to be a part of the Jewels and Pinstripes Back To School Gift Bag. There were many celebrity recipients and so far we have heard that Denise Richards’ kids have enjoyed wearing the new Myself Belts! It is fun to see celeb kids wearing Myself Belts and hear about how our belts have helped their kids to feel good about themselves and their independence. We’ll let you know as we get more “thank you’s”!
Have a great week!

Hi Everyone,
It has been 2 weeks since our crew has started school and it is nice to be back into the post summer groove. There are so many emotions that come with dropping off your children for school. Whether it be a new school, new grade, or first day in kindergarten, there is so much that goes through our children’s heads when they head back to school as well as our own feelings about these milestones as parents.
For some parents, it is emotional and hard to separate from their preschoolers for the school day as we then look in the mirror and think “are they okay?” “do they need me anymore?” “who are we?” during these hours and “what do we do?” and simply “I miss them!” For others there is a feeling of success at having gotten our kids this far and having successfully meandered our way through the baby/toddler/sleepless/ and often overwhelming stages of early parenthood. Knowing that your kids are happy and safe in their new school is essential to a positive adjustment. Meeting teachers, parents, and hearing about your kids’ day help everyone to feel a part of the same school story.
We are enjoying the shift from our tiring summer fun, to some quiet moments not as moms, but just as people- where work can be done without guilt, a quick trip to the grocery store can be made(alone!), relationships with friends can be nurtured, and then we get to feel that excitement at 3:30 to pick up everyone and see their smiling faces and hear about everything that we missed!
Enjoy your back to school adventures!

Hi Everyone-
Myself Belts recently gave 2,500 belts to Dignity U Wear, an organization that positively impacts the lives of children and their families in need by providing brand new clothing. This in turn, results in improvement of self-esteem, fosters better school performance and helps parents take better care of their families. Check out this great organization and see how you too can help kids in need!
This is the 3rd time that Myself Belts has donated to this wonderful organization. We love knowing that thousands of kids will be starting the school year with our independence boosting belts!
Happy Summer!

Hi everyone,
With the arrival of summer we have being doing one of our favorite things, going through hand-me-downs! As moms with more than one child, hand-me-down clothing is one of our biggest saviors. Whether clothing gets handed down from friends, family members, or older siblings, hand-me-downs can be a wonderful time and money saver. Sharing with friends and family is a fun way to see our favorite clothes live on. I love seeing one of my child’s favorite things on a family friend as it brings up great memories of remembering the clothing on my own kids. It’s crazy as they grow up to remember them so small. It’s also amazing how a t-shirt or pair of pants can elicit so many memories.
While some pieces of clothing may not hold up as well over time, we’ve found that well-made pieces can stand up to many washes and wearings. We find that it’s necessary to go through the bags of clothing we’ve accumulated every season, pass on what doesn’t fit, and take out what now does. Make sure to have your kids try on everything and not assume that a size 6 is still a size 6 (several washing/dryings can change the shape and size of clothing significantly). We have even heard from friends about Myself Belts being passed on to them in a hand me down bag- we love hearing that the belts have stood the test of time!
If you find yourself with a bunch of clothing and nobody to hand it down to, don’t throw it away! Find your local Goodwill and donate it there. There is sure to be someone else who can use it.

Hi everyone,
We thought we’d share this great picture with you, of kids at Head Start receiving their Myself Belts. We donate a Myself Belt to kids at Head Start for every book purchase we receive. Buying a book from Myself Belts is a great way to get your own kids reading and to make a useful donation to a child in Head Start.
Head Start is a nationwide program that provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families. Nearly 25 million pre-school aged children have benefited from Head Start. Our belt donations go to the St. Louis chapter of Head Start of Missouri.

Hi everyone,
We both know how frustrating it can be getting your kids dressed in the morning! Whether your child wants to wear everything in their closet all at once, the same t-shirt everyday, or stripes with polka dots with plaid, the daily fighting over what to wear can be difficult and tiring.
My (Talia’s) youngest daughter (aged almost 4) is at the stage where she needs several choices in the morning. I find that laying out several options for her is the easiest way to have a calm morning. If I give her only one choice, she won’t want to wear it. But if I let her choose from several choices, she’s always happy. My older daughter (aged 6) is beginning to choose her own clothes without my help. Though this can end up in an interesting outfit of striped pants and a flower-patterned shirt, the pride she gets from choosing her own outfits is worth it!
Do you all have any strategies for helping your kids get dressed in the morning? Share them in the comments section!

Hi everyone,
Spring is just around the corner and we couldn’t be more excited! After a long, cold winter, it is refreshing to have longer days and warmer weather. We are also so excited to be offering two stylish new belts for spring: the Peace Belt and the Light Blue Strip Belt. For girls, the Peace Belt is sure to be a hippie-chic favorite. Decorated with cranberry and pink flower clusters and light pink peace signs, this soft khaki ribbon belt is fashionable and pretty. For boys, the Light Blue Stripe Belt is a classic belt for all occasions. Made with a navy blue webbing and a light blue overlay, this belt can be used every day or to dress up a formal outfit. Check out the website for bigger pictures of the belts.
Hope you guys love these new belts as much as we do!
